New season of F1 Academy, the all female series, gets underway in Saudi Arabai
F1 Academy — the all-women’s racing series — is back for a second season. Spearheaded by former driver Susie Wolff the series is designed to enable female drivers to progress to higher levels of competition with the eventual possibility of a woman racing in F1 in the future. Seven rounds are slated for 2024, starting in Jeddah on Friday at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. It’ll be a big weekend in particular for Reema Juffali. Saudi Arabia’s first female racing driver has been handed a wild card entry for the race. She’s been telling CNN’s Amanda Davies about her journey through motorsport and why her bigger dream lies away from the F1 track.
